Cavatappi has a chevron with a small tip and a large white spot near the spiracle.

The dorsal fin of this rorqual is broad and triangular and has a large mark on the lower-middle part.

A bit of history

Cavatappi has been sighted foraging and feeding on two occasions off the Garraf coast in April. On both occasions the whale was sighted with another individual, on both occasions this individual was a female although not the same one. In addition, the second day we saw Cavatappi and the female with whom he was with the first time we sighted him although not during the same sighting. They were not together but they were in the same area.
